The Kosovo Force (KFOR) is a NATO-led international force responsible for establishing and maintaining security in Kosovo. This peace-enforcement force entered Kosovo on 12 June 1999 under a United Nations mandate, two days after the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution. The objectives of KFOR are to establish and maintain a secure environment in Kosovo. HQ Multinational Battle Group South is located at Camp Prizren.
Other units located here are: Austrian Maneuver Company, German Maneuver Company, Swiss Maneuver Company, Turkish Maneuver Company, Multinational Liaison and Monitoring Company (Austrian, German, Turkish and some Swiss elements). Multinational Military Police Company (Austrian, German, Swiss and Turkish elements). German Medical Task Force (including Austrian and French medics). German Signals Company.
German Support Battalion.
