Former Nazi fliegerhorst Münster-Handorf was one of the first Luftwaffe airfields, established in 1935. After WW2 it briefly became an allied airfield being used as a RAF garrison until 1949. Abandoned until 1960; then taken over by NL as HQ 1 (Nike) Missile Group 1960-1975. Also NL 119 Sqn (B-battery) 1 Msl Grp
