Former Ellsworth Titan I missile field; 44 Strategic Msl Wing / 850 Strategic Msl Sqn was operational 1959-1965
850 was deployed in a 3x3 configuration, which meant a total of 9 missiles were divided into 3 bases. Each missile base had 3 ICBM missiles ready to launch at any given time. Missile sites were later sold off to private ownership after demilitarization (demolishing).
