The infamous Dagger complex at Darmstadt a.k.a.Local Training Area 6910 is located at the edge of a former airfield and was considered to house one of the most important branches of the National Security Agency. The complex is part of the US Armed Forces Wiesbaden garrison and based the operational site of a USAF SIGINT collection squadron in the 1960s; later being reroled as the INSCOM European Cryptologic Center (ECC). Until 2018 the ECC occupied virtually the entire complex, Its specialists used to interprete and analyze all intercepted metadata..
This unit however has been relocated to Wiesbaden and subsequently the Dagger Complex status also has changed from a former processing, analysis and reporting center into a current military datacenter storing intercepted metadata..
As of 2015 complex is operating under US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Europe
