6849'54"N 1634'43"E Trondenes Nazi stonghold defending the Harstadt harbour. 4x 40.6 cm guns protected the inlet to Narvik.
These guns were incorporated into the Norwegian coastal defence after the war. The Norwegian Defence phased out the batteries and the guns were destroyed in 1956, but those at Trondenes are preserved and the only 40.6cm German guns in the world that can be seen.
