60°13'35"N 10°17'25"E Hønefoss airfield. Eggemoen. Former nazi Luftwaffe major airfield project throughout WW2. Fnally completed in 1944, the war was in its final stages. For the few months the airfield had operational status, a considerable number of fighter aircrafts landed on Eggemoen for fuel and inspection, and it actually worked as a stationary for a number of transport- and surveillance aircraft. After the war, Eggemoen was a flight school for the Norwegian Air Force, Lately, the air field has been used by light aircrafts from Ringerike Flyklubb and for firewatch patrols. Ola Tronrud http://www.tronrud.no/en/ acquired the airfield in 2000 for offhore purposes.
SIGINT facilities: Ringerike. Former ACE-high comms station later reroled as NCIA http://www.ncia.nato.int/Pages/homepage.aspx NATO SATCOM facility station F5. It was using the former SATCOM III satellite network but switched to the NCIA satcom network via the French SYRACUSE 3, the Italian SICRAL 1 and 1B and the British Skynet 4 and 5 satcom systems. Facility is operated by Etterretningstjenesten (Norwegian Intel Service) as a SATCOM intercept facility monitoring all internet and cellphone activities.
