60°13'35"N 10°17'25"E Hønefoss airfield. Eggemoen. Former nazi major airfield project throughout WW2. Finally completed in 1944 with, WW2 in its final stages. For the few months the airfield had operational status, a considerable number of fighter aircraft landed for fuel and inspection, and it actually worked as a stationary for a number of transport- and surveillance aircraft.
After the war, Eggemoen was a flight school for the Norwegian Air Force, Lately, the airfield has been used by light aircrafts from Ringerike Flyklubb and for firewatch patrols. Ola Tronrud http://www.tronrud.no/en/ acquired the airfield in 2000 for offhore purposes.
SIGINT facilities: Ringerike. Former ACE-high comms station later reroled as NCIA http://www.ncia.nato.int/Pages/homepage.aspx NATO SATCOM facility station F5. It was using the former SATCOM III satellite network but switched to the NCIA satcom network via the French SYRACUSE 3, the Italian SICRAL 1 and 1B and the British Skynet 4 and 5 satcom systems. Facility is operated by Etterretningstjenesten (Norwegian Intel Service) as a SATCOM intercept facility monitoring all internet and cellphone activities.
