51°28'19"N 1°24'2"W RAF - USAFE Welford. Former WW2 RAF and USAAF bomberbase and later on transportation base. After the war in caretaker status and from 1955 used as a conventional ammo storage for both RAF and USAF. The facility has been taken over by USAFE in 1995. Most munitions dropped by aircraft deployed at RAF Fairford during the Gulf war and the Kosovo war came from Welford by the M4.

420 MUNS http://www.501csw.usafe.af.mil/Units/422nd-ABG/420th-MUNS/ provides capability to receive, store, maintain and distribute munitions to mission partners worldwide. Its storage area is the second largest in USAFE. The storage area continues to be a significant asset in the USAFE theater. Just a lot of conventional ammo. Its personnel relies on the RAF Croughton faclities.
