Shoal Bay Receiving Station. A signals intelligence-gathering facility, located on the shores of Shoal Bay, 11 mi from Darwin in Australia's Northern Territory. This site is managed by the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD).
SBRS is suspected to be a part of the global ECHELON network, operated under the UKUSA Agreement. It is also a major contributor to the US National Security Agency's surveillance program codenamed XKeyscore.
Shoal Bay Station also operates as a receiving comms station for the Royal Australian Navy; its transmitting counterpart is the Humpty Doo Station at grid
