2.RAF Oakhanger

RAF Oakhanger is one of the Communications and Information Agency locations in the UK handling SATCOM
Currently split up in 3 sites
- Telemetry & Command Station (TCS) Oakhanger,
- Satellite Ground Station(SGS) Oakhanger
- Satellite Ground Terminal F4 (operated on behalf of NATO).
The sites are used to support the British Skynet 5 constellation and the USAF Satellite Control Network (AFSCN)

Formerly operated by RAF Logistics Command's No 1001 Signals Unit, whose Space Operations Squadron was based at RAF Oakhanger.
Currently a " key location" for the operation and management of the UK Military Satellite Communications System, providing voice, telegraph, facsimile, data and imagery services to military users, as well as supporting non-military government agencies.
Oakhanger also houses one of the three satellite ground stations (SGS) which provide strategic and tactical communications services for NATO.
