General Information

The Nike Hercules was a command-guided, long-range, high-altitude anti-aircraft missile. It was normally deployed in fixed bases consisting of a basecamp, a radar and guidance control site (IFC) and a launch area (LA). Hercules batteries in Europe were generally placed all over W Germany forming an airdefence belt. Nike missiles could be nuclear and conventional armed.
