Hellevoetsluis was one of the forward bases operating Biber minisubmarines. December 22/23 1944 9 Bibers sailed from Hellevoetsluis. The action ended in failure. British MTBs surprised them whilst still being towed and instantly sank 4. One was mined and 4 returned damaged.

January 29/30 1945 - 15 Biber sailed from Hellevoetsluis. 1 sunk following collision with floating ice. 5 forced to return with ice damage. 1 found beached downstream from Hellevoetsluis after spending 64 (sixty-four) hours at sea looking for a target and 5 were MIA.

March 6 1945 torpedo accident in action - 14 Biber sunk and 9 damaged. 11 Biber MIA.

March 23/24 1945 - 16 Biber left Hellevoetsluis for actions near Antwerp. 7 returned, 5 sank, 1 stranded & abandoned, 1 MIA.

April 1945 - Only 24 Biber remaining at Rotterdam ceasing operations until German surrender in May 1945.
