9. NIKE Cincinnati-Dayton air defense area

Cincinnati-Dayton Defense Area (CD): The sites became operational to defend the industrial centers of the Ohio River Valley.
A "BIRDIE" site collocated at C-27 hosted missile command and control functions for the region.
