Former Nike Hawaii (Oahu) Defense Area (OA)
US Army Pacific planned 8 batteries at 6 sites on the Island, later scaled back to 4.
The ACP was at Wahiawa and the early warning radar site was Mt Kaala AFS joint operated by PACAF, FAA and Air NG. HQ facilities were at Fort Ruger.
The sites were open-air launchers mounted on concrete pads surrounded by earthen berms. Deactivation in the mid1970's.
