Voice of America a.k.a International Broadcasting Bureau Greenville Transmitting Station or Edward R. Murrow Transmitting Station
The station provided shortwave broadcasts for U.S. government-funded,and international broadcasting (This is the Voice of America).
The main target areas for the station's shortwave broadcasts are Latin America, Cuba, the Caribbean and Africa. (1953- now)

Originally three sites have been activated.
Site A, which comprised 2,821 acres near Beargrass in Beaufort County at grid . 35°41'53"N 77° 9'3"W has been decommisioned 2007.
Site B comprises 2,715 acres near Blackjack in Pitt County at grid 35°28'6"N 77°11'48"W is stil active.
And site C had 633 acres near Falkland, North Carolina at grid 35°38'0"N 77°29'3"W and has also been decommisioned.1999
