RAF-USAFE Upper Heyford. Former WW2 training base. As of 1950 over to USAF (later USAFE) until closure 1994.
In 2000 declassified documents revealed an active on-base nuclear storage (1956 -1988) at grid 51°56'32"N 1°14'40"W holding 25x AGM-69 Short Range Attack Missiles (SRAM) to be carried by USAF FB-111A's in case of WW3. These weapons were armed with a W69 nuc warhead with a max.yield of 200KT.

- 66th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing 1966 -1970 operating RF-101's, RF-4's and U-2
- 20th Tactical Fighter Wing 1970 - 1993 operating FB-111's and EF-111's
