Camp Nathan Smith. A US forces base north of Kandahar City, Afghanistan. Originally an abandoned fruit factory.
November 2003, built and operated by the US Army Charlie Btry, 3rd Batn, 321st Field Arty Regt from Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Taken over by Canadian Military in 2005 and named after PFC Nathan Smith of the 3rd Batn, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry killed in a friendly fire incident.
July 2010 taken over by US Army again; 1st Bde Combat Team, 4th Inf Div.
June 2011 transferred to US Army 2nd Bde Combat Team, 4th Inf Div and the Afghanistan National Security Forces.
