Xiashan 2 Marine Infantry Brigade (former 164th MIB) which is part of the Chinese South Sea Fleet is consisting of 8000 personnel in
an Armored Regiment (2 x Bns w/Type 63 amphibious light tanks),
2 Mech Infantry Batns w/Type 86 IFV and Type 63/89 APC (both amphibious),
a Marine (Assault) Infantry Batn. (750 military),
a Missile Batn (HJ-8 & HJ-73 ATGM's and HN-5 SAM's),
an Engineer and Chemical Batn;
a Communications Batn
