Former RAF West Malling 5116'24" N 024'25"E (1917-1969) WW1 and WW2 airfield was a frontline fighter station during the Battle of Britain
Post war use: throughout the 1950s and early 1960s a RAF night fighter station and as a US Navy airstation until 1967 after which it was placed on Care & Maintenance, used by several air-industry related businesses. In 1965, Air Cadet 618 VGS (Volunteer Gliding School) moved to West Malling.
Currently: converted into Kings Hill, a mixed development of residential and business developments, including homes, schools, local retail units and an 18-hole golf course.
