Dakar base naval - Marine Nationale. Senegalese navy consists of 3 main corps.
- Groupement Naval Opérationnel (GNO) is the Naval Opserations Group.
Responsible for the flottilles de Patrouilleurs de Haute Mer (PHM) - high sea patrol boats, the Bâtiment de Surveillance Côtière (BSC) - coastguard,
the Vedettes Côtières Rapides (VCR) - rapid deployable patrolboats and the Groupe de transport (EDIC) -transport unit.
- Groupement de Soutien de la Marine (GSM) is the Navy Support Group
Responsible for the harbour security, maintenance, personnel and logistics.
- Groupement de Surveillance Fluvio-maritime (GSFM) - Riverine Patrol Group.
Responsible for surveillance and protection of all maritime and riverine zones.

The physical strength is:
- 1 x Osprey 55 patrol vessel; 470 tonnes / 38 marines. / armament : 1 x 30mm + 1 x 20mm.
- 1 x Njambuur - P-773 patrol vessel; 450 tonnes / 40 marines./ armament : 2 x 76 mm OTO-Melara + 2 x 20 mm GIAT.
- 3 x PR-48 Saint-Louis, Popenguine and Podor patrol vessel; 250 tonnes / 38 marines / armament : 2 x 40 mm + 2 x 12,7mm.
- 3 x Interceptor Sénégal, Sine Saloum II and Casamance II; 62 tonnes / armament : 1 x 20 mm.
- 2 x deux fast patrollers; 22 tonnes / armament .50 cal.
- 3 x logistic and amphibical support ships.
