After the Falkland War the British Forces South Atlantic Islands (BFSAI) guarantees the security.of the area comprising the Falkland Islands; South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.BFSAI ops are being carried out from Mount Pleasant Complex which is hosting
-- Hq BFSAI
-- the British Army garrison consisting of a rotating infantry company, an engineer squadron, a signals unit, a logistics group and supporting services and a Joint Unit with Engineers and personnel for electronic warfare and command and control systems.
-- RAF Mt Pleasant and an Air Expeditionary Wing with a Combat flight (EF Typhoons); an Airlift flight (A400 Atlas, Voyager KC2) and a Helicopter flight (HC4 Chinooks)

- Mare Harbour: the port facility of Mt Pleasant Complex. Operated by the Royal Navy maintaining presence in the area with a frigate or guided missile destroyer; an RFA vessel in the South Atlantic and a patrol ship. Trafalgar or Astute class nuclear submarines may patrol the area but their ops are classified.

- Port Stanley: HQ Falklands Defense Force, a company strength light infantry and Joint EOD forces

- Dispersed radar warning and missile sites: Mt Alice; Mt Byron and Mt Kent with several Rapier sites at grid: 51 49' 13" S -59 34' 40" E ; 51 46' 50" S -59 32' 21" E ; 51 52' 32" S -59 32' 27" E ; 51 53' 12" S -59 30' 55" E ; 51 53' 12" S -59 34' 10" E

- the UK: The UK based Joint Rapid Reaction Force, containing elements of all services, could be deployed to the islands at short notice.

Defense Nws : Rafael selected for UK Sky Sabre BMC4I solution. The UK is investing in strengthening military presence on the Falkland Islands and is replacing its Raper missile systems by the Sky Sabre Modular, Integrated C4I Air & Missile Defense System (MIC4AD).
