- 10 Tactical wing operating F-16A Falcon with a strength of appx 1600 personnel. Base is part of NATO's Reaction Force meaning that the base may deliver aircraft and personnel for international deployments and that the base is also operating in nuclear deterrence role in case of war.

1955. Transition F-84E and F and then ops with F-84F Thunderstreak
1960. Starting permanent nuclear Quick Reaction Alert phase (dual role)
1964. Conversion F-104G Starfighters and ops in dual role;
1973-1975. Hardened facilities constructed on base.
1981 - current. F-16A Falcon ops in.dual role
As of 1992: 26 based Protective Aircraft Shelters. 11 of which equipped with WS3 nuc weapon vaults (max.capacity = 44 weapons).
Prior to that, all bombs (B43 and early B61 types) were stored in an off-base Weapons Storage Area at grid 51°11'22"N 5°28'43"E.
Former QRA with 4 aircraft armed and ready at grid 51°10'40"N 5°28'58"E (US Nuclear Weapons in Europe. A revision of post-Cold War policy, force levels, and war planning May 2012).
