1344'50"N 10911'27"E Qui Nhon; Vietnam. Former troposcatter and microwave ops. location of US Army 40th Signal Btn. Unit was part of the Backporch Integrated Wideband Comms System of the US forces in Vietnam (1970-1975) and linked to Da Nang Monkey Mtn in the North and Nha Trang and Cam Ranh Bay in the South.

The entire IWCS, comprising 67 links in South Vietnam and 33 in Thailand, reached completion early in 1969. The system, which totaled 470,000 circuit miles, allowed American commanders to control US airpower throughout Southeast Asia, to manage widely separated logistical andadministrative bases and to link major commands throughout South Vietnam. It cost more than $300 million to build.
