44 9'31"N 103 6'8"W AF Global Strike Cmd / Ellsworth airbase,South Dakota
WW2 bomberbase. Upgraded and as of 1947 flying B-29 Superfortress and B-36 Peacemaker. As of 1958 B-52 Stratofortress. The base also hosted some Air Defence Cmd radar and airdef missile units (1953-1962) and operated EC-135 aircraft with onboard Airborne Launch Control System (ALCS) from 1970-1992 in Looking Glass role. As of 1960-1965 the base operated Titan 1 ICBM units and Minuteman 1 and 2 ICBM units (1962-1992).
As of 1987 the base operated B-1B's in dual role but as of 2011 in conventional role only,

- 89 Attack Squadron operating MQ-9 Reapers remotely employing MQ-9 Reaper aircraft worldwide

- AETC / 372 Training Sq, Det. 8 providing training on the B-1B and Aerospace Ground Equipment maintenance community,

- Air Force Financial Services Center providing travel pay services and support to active duty military and civilian personnel

- AF Office of Special Investigations Detachment 816 is the local AF investigative agency
