- HQ Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) http://www.afsoc.af.mil/ Activated 1990 as a subordinate USSOCOM command at Hurlburt Field, Florida and provides Air Commandos, SpecOps Weather Team Airmen, Air Force Pararescuers and Combat controllers.
-- 1st Special Operations Wing (1st SOW) at Hurlburt Field, is one of 5e Air Force active duty specops wings under Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). 1st SOW provide airpower to conduct special operations missions worldwide.
-- 24 SOW is the Air Force’s Only Special Tactics Wing with 720 Special Tactics Grp and Special Tactics Training Squadron
-- 492 SOW is responsible for the training and education of Air Force special operations forces as well as AFSOC's Aviation Foreign Internal Defense program

Dislocated AFSOC units:
- 27 Special Operations Wing at Cannon airbase conducts infiltration/exfiltration, combat support, tilt-rotor operations, helicopter aerial refueling, close air support, unmanned aerial vehicle operations, non-standard aviation, and other special missions. It also directs the deployment, employment, training, and planning for squadrons that operate the AC-130W, MC-130J, CV-22B, U-28A, MQ-9
- 352 SOW at RAF Mildenhall UK flying VC-22 Osprey and MC-130J Commando II
- 353 SOG Japan (SEE: 2. AIR / Kadena airbase / Okinawa-Japan)
- 137 SOW (ANG) at Will Rogers ANG base
- 193 SOW (ANG) at Harrisburg ANG base
