Minuteman ICBM complex; 351 Missile Grp. / 508 Msl Sqn. One of the Minuteman command facilities 1963-1995

351st MG operating Minuteman 1 ICBMs at Whiteman AFB; activated August 9, 1963. Its components were 508, 509 and 510 Strategic Msl Sqns. The wing supervised missile training ops and coordinated construction of SM-30B Minuteman I missile facilities from 1963-1964. The first missile arriving 1964 and 508th SMS became combat ready. The last flight of 15 missiles was accepted 1964, making the 510th operational with a total of 150 operational missiles.
351st converted to LGM-30F Minuteman 2 in 1966 and 1967 and remained operational until its 1995 deactivation as a result of the Start treaty.
