Marine Corps Air Stn Miramar (former NAS Miramar), located about 10 mi north of San Diego, California.
Former location of the Pacific Fleet fighter and Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft (F-4 Phantom II, F-14 Tomcat, E-2 Hawkeye) and the USN Fighter Weapons School (NFWS) 'Topgun' training program. In that era the station was a.k.a. "Fightertown USA". In 1996, NFWS relocated to NAS Fallon in Nevada and merged into the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center (NSAWC). After that NAS Miramar became a USMC air station

Currently USMC Miramar is home to :
- 3 Marine Aircraft Wing, the aviation element of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force providing combat ready expeditionary aviation forces capable of short notice world wide deployment.
