Base Aeronavale Lann Bihoue (N of the runway) is the military part of Lorient airport (S of the rwy) the civil regional airport. Both combining in a joint Military/Civil airfield.

- 4 Flottille operating the E-2C Hawkeyes securing fleet airpicture and controlling airtraffic.
- 21 and 23 Flottilles operating the Breguet Atlantic II in Submarine Warfare, Search & Rescue, Anti Surface and anti drugs role.
- 24 Flottille operating the Dassault Falcon 50 Surmar in Search & Rescue, Anti Drugs, Immigration and Environmental Control role as well as aerial security surveillance during Ariane missile launches in French Guyana.
- 28 Flottille operating Xingu in LSO role.
