NATO Üdem. Former 2 ATAF NADGE radarsite of SOC2 with the SOC radio tacticall "Mandril", Later converted into CRC NATINADS with tacticall "Crabtree".
After deactivation of CAOC 4 in Messtetten this was the remaining CAOC in Germany; responsible for controlling air deployments in the Northern part of Europe (Germany, BENELUX, Poland, Baltic states, Czechia and Slovakia).
The unit uses a Hughes Air Defense Radar (HADR) operating in the F-band with an aerial reach of appx 500kms.
Current status: active and consisting of
- The operational Combined Air Ops Center 2 entrance underground facility at grid 51°40'49"N 6°18'20"E
- The Hughes Air Defense Radar at grid 51°40'39"N 6°22'12"E
- The Combined Joint Force Air Component Command HQ (CJFACCHQ) at the Seydlitz Kaserne at grid 51°43'57"N 6°16'13"E
