NATO´s former underground Static War Headquarters (SWHQ) Coded "Castlegate"
Development of the bunker started in the mid 1960's and first construction started in 1973.
Construction process lasted until 1991 as the bunkers electronic systems were completely tested and met NATO's specifications.
Castlegate had been "limited ops" because the ongoing works from 1987-1991 and became "full ops" after that.
Its demensions: 53m wide, 45m long and 28m deep in 6 stories buried 25 m below the surface.
Equipment: CBRN proof, EMP proof, self supporting in water, food and energy to operate its C3 systems with an average crew of 400 pers for 8 weeks.
Nowadays used as emergency location for the Joint Force Command (JFC) Headquarters
