Former nuc storage facility at RAF-USAFE Bentwaters. The base hosted several nuc certified units in the past.
- 1955-1959: 81Ftr Bomber Wing (reassigned Tac Ftr Wing with 91 and 92 TFS) operating F-84F's with Mk7 bombs
,- 1958-1966: 81TFW /91/92TFS operating F-101A's with Mk.7s;
- 1965-1975: 81TFW/ operating F-4's with Mk.28 and later B61 bombs
After that year only conventional units until 1994:
Then base closed and kept in RAF care and maintenance.
The former Victor alert facility (8 shelters appx 1000 ft north of the SAS) is clearly visible.
