Air Reserve Base March, Calif http://www.march.afrc.af.mil/ Built in 1918, WW2 training/bomber base. In 1946 Tactical Air Cmd base, in 1959 Strategic Air Cmd base but as of 1982 an inflight refuellng base and as of 1996 over to Air Reserve Cmd as March Air Reserve Base.
AFRC March is currently home to :
- Hq Fourth Air Force, one of the numbered air forces assigned to Air Force Reserve Cmd
- 452 Air Mobility Wing (host) operating C-17 Globemaster III and KC-135R Stratotanker with 452 Ops Grp with 2 Air Refuelling and 1 Airlift sqns and 452nd Maintenance; Mission Support and Medical Groups
CA ANG / 163 Attack Wing operating MQ-9 Reapers at grid 33°53'49"N 117°15'2"W In 2006, then 163 Recon Wing was the first ANG unit receiving MQ-1 Predators becoming a Flying Training Unit (FTU) and Field Training Detachment (FTD) for the Predator. As of 2015 redesignated into 163 Attack Wing when introducing the MQ-9 Reaper system
