3. ARMY / Mackall Army Airfield

Mackall army airfield, subordinated to Ft Bragg is a primary training ground for US Army Special Forces. Facility used by spec-ops instructors assigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne), which maintains training facilities on Camp Mackall used during the Special Forces Qualification Course.

1st SWTG(A) trains soldiers to standard, as entry-level ARSOF warriors, at Fort Bragg, NC; Camp MacKall, NC; Key West, FL; Fort Lewis, WA and Yuma Proving Ground, AZ in order to fill current and future ARSOF requirements. On order -1st SWTG(A) trains select DoD, inter-agency, and foreign personnel.
SOP's:

• Phase1: 3 weeks - Assessment & Selection, anguage Survey & Personal Interview, Language Head Start, Soldier receives language and MOS assignment phase
• Phase2: 24 weeks - Languages
• Phase3: 12 weeks - Small Unit Tactics , SF Tactics Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) , SF Common Skills Tng , Land Navigation
• Phase4: 15 weeks - MOS:18A-Off., 18B-Wpn SGT, 18C-Eng SGT, 18E-Commo SGT,18D-Med SGT 46wks
• Phase5: 4 weeks - unconventional warfare, final exersice
• Phase 6: 1 week - ARSOF for life (OPD/NCOPD & counseling), Regimental Indoctrination, Graduate, Outprocess
