4926'53"N 735'35"E Ramstein airbase, Germany http://www.ramstein.af.mil/ Costructed by US forces in 1952 as part of the Truman Doctrine, extending NATO forces in former W-Germany. During the Cold War Ramstein had a considerably stockpile of nuclear weapons but in 2007 these have been relocated to the USA.

Currently based units:
- Hq US Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) and Africa (AFAFRICA) http://www.usafe.af.mil/ The air component for both US European Command and US Africa Command directing air ops in a theater spanning 3 continents,

- Hq 3d Air Force consisting of more than 32,000 Airmen across Europe and Africa.
Equipment assets: appx 217 fighter, attack, rotary wing, tanker and transport aircraft with a full complement of conventional weapons.
Its main operating bases: RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall in the UK; Ramstein and Spangdahlem Airbases in Germany; Aviano Airbase, Italy; Lajes Field in the Azores and Incirlik Airbase, Turkey. These bases report to Third Air Force for day-to-day and contingency operations

- 435 Air Expeditionary Wing. USAFE-AFAFRICA has no forces permanently based in Africa, 435th AEW Airmen provide expeditionary base support, force protection, construction and resupply operations at remote locations.

- 603d Air Operations Center. The USAFE - AFAFRICA Combined Coordination Center at grid 4927'23"N 735'45"E
603d has a KEY ROLE in providing planning and directing initiatives and assesses operational level command and control of integrated air, space, and cyber power in support of two combatant commands. 603rd AOC responds to European Command and Africa Command requirements and sustains 24/7 operations for combat endeavors, air mobility, intelligence. The SATCOM relay pads & facility at 4926'46"N 736'42"E is the up/dwnlink transmittting / receiving facility for the US drone pilots operating worldwide in support of other deployed units.

- 86 AIrlift Wing (host unit) with 86 Ops, 86 Maintenance, 86 Mission Suppt, 86 Civ Eng, 86 Log Readiness and 86 Medical Groups.
Dislocated: 65 Airbase Group at Lajes Field, Azores.

- USAF Expeditionary Center, Air Mobility Command
- 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing
- 435th Air Ground Operations Wing
- NATO Ballistic Missile Defense Cmd
- Warrior Preparation Center (WPC). A simulation center to support Battle Staff training.
