Constructed by the EAF in the 1960's after the Suez crisis and ops as a fighterbase.
Destroyed and occupied by Israel during the 6 day war in 1967.
Taken over by the Israeli armed forces during the Sinai occupation and used as an Israeli air force base during the 1973 Yom Kippur war.
After the Israeli withdrawal from the Sinai taken over again by the EAF and currently operational as a joint mil/civ airfield with changing detachments.
No fixed units permenently stationed.
