50°16'40"N 111°10'3"W CFB Suffield is under command of 3d Canadian Div (W-Canada).
It is a 2,690 km2 military training area (the largest military training area in Canada) which is divided into different areas for various uses.

The base is also the home of Defence Research and Development Canada – Suffield Research Centre.providing the DoD, the Canadian Armed Forces, other government departments, as well as public safety and national security communities the knowledge and technological advantage to defend and protect Canada’s interests. DRDC Suffield offers expertise in military engineering, autonomous intelligent systems and CBRN defences.

The base also hosts the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS). BATUS is equipped with in excess of 1000 vehicles including a full complement of Challenger 2 tanks and Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicles. More than 400 permanent staff and 1000 temporary deployed staff provide demanding combined arms manoeuvre training for the armoured forces
