Schimatari Tanagra airbase (LGTG) .historical:
Between 1956 - 1999 the base operated many squadrons and aircraft. 114 CW established at Tanagra with 341, 342 and 343 Intercept Sq. 361 Training Sq with T-33A Shooting Stars. 335 Sq with F-84F Thunderstreaks switching to (T)F-104G Starfighters. 336 Fighter Bomber Sq with (T)F-104Gs. 342 Sq reroled 342 All Weather Sq, with (T)F-102A Delta Daggers, reroling again on Mirage F-1CGs. 366 Training Flight formed with T-33A Shooting Stars. 1988 The Mirage 2000EGs. 1989 The 332 AW Sq was equipped with Mirage 2000EGs and Mirage 2000BGs.
Mirage F-1CGs retired after 28 years and 342 AW Sq disbanded.

Tanagra had a large USAFE special storage facility at grid 38°19'22"N, 23°34'7"E and a nuclear QRA at grid 38°20'0"N 23°34'52"E (1970-1984). These decommissioned 1988. At this time the base was operated by 2 squadrons:
- 332 Fighter Mira with 14x Mirage F1-CG (strike support)
- 342 Fighter Mira with 14x Mirage 2000C (nuclear capable)

Currently homebase of 114th Combat Wing (114 Πτέρυγα Μάχης) consisting of:
-- 331st “Thiseas” Allweather Interceptor Sq (331 Μοίρα "Αιγέας") - Mirage 2000-5 Mk2
-- 332nd “Geraki” Allweather Interceptor Sq (332 Μοίρα "Γεράκι") - Mirage 2000 BGM/EGM
-- 26th Guided Missile Sq (part of 350 GMS) operating Patriot PAC-3 and Crotale NG

- Air Force Support Command / HAF Agency
