It was hardened to withstand ground attacks with an armor plated watchtower covering the entire site with machineguns. The building had landline/VHF/UHF comms, several technical and logistic facilities and a crewroom. After site closure and demolition all blockhouses were stripped but remained mostly intact and are the only visible remains of the past. Some have been converted for other purposes..
